So I’ve lived in California since 1989.
Remember the ’89 earthquake? I’m convinced that was California’s way of welcoming our little family to this great state. I still remember my brother jumping off his top bunk, and he totally “stop, dropped and rolled,” before he realized that’s what you do for a fire, not an earthquake. I also remember the water from our pool sloshing onto the patio, and book shelves falling, candles, and using our propane BBQ to cook.
Man, I love California.
Specifically, I grew up in the Bay Area; in Cupertino (Apple, baby). I only moved to the Sacramento region, after two years of marriage, pre-kids, in 2003. Why? Ask any Bay Area transplant. The housing was much more affordable. Turns out, it’s a great place to raise a family too.
That was ten years ago.
In that time we have never, ever been to the California State Fair.
Or any state fair for that matter.
I don’t know what to expect.
Well, that’s not true. I’ve heard tell there are games, and rides, and all manner of deep-fried food. I have also heard, for a suburban, city, girl like myself, I’ll have the chance to see quite a variety of people.
What should I look for, experience, or run like my hair is on fire from?
Oh, and you know what? I have tickets for you!
Well, maybe you.
If you win.
It’s a race. I hope you win.
I’m making it super-duper easy, because dude, the California State Fair started July 12 and ends July 28th. OH MY GOODNESS. I need to mail these tickets to you ASAP!
I have a California State Fair family pack for four. The four entrance tickets come with free parking, and four ride tickets as well. I also have three additional entrance tickets to add to the mix, in case you have more than four in your family, or if you want to throw a few random people in your car just for fun. Make sure they agree to be thrown in, because I am not responsible after these tickets are out of my hands.
So, make good choices.
Here’s the deal. We are running this giveaway for 48 hours. IF you win, I will contact you and you have to respond quick-like, or else someone else gets them. That is all.
The California State Fair provided me with tickets to the fair. All excitement speculation, and anticipation are my own.
