With back-to-school looming like a dark, and stormy cloud, at least I can look forward to tucking in some adorable Hallmark encouragement cards under my daughters’ pillows before the big day. (Big day is Wednesday folks. It’s friggin’ TOMORROW. NONONONO! <—yes, I’m that parent)
My girls are incredibly sweet, and thoughtful. They love writing notes to me, to each other, and to daddy.
Sometimes Most of the time, we forget to send back little notes. I don’t have an excuse now, I have a bunch from Hallmark. Score!
I’m officially, a huge fan of their encouragement card line. With how easy it is to connect with people via my smart phone, I do miss the chance to open up a card, maybe get a paper cut in my excitement to get at the message, laugh at the message, and enjoy the time that the sender spent to think of me.
When was the last time you received, or gave a card to a friend or loved one?
When I was visiting the Hallmark suite writing, and sending cards at evo’12 I ran into Jon. He looked familiar, and I think it must’ve been my second visit to their suite before we both put it together. We had last seen each other at BlogHer ’11 in San Diego. It was fun reconnecting.
I love how Hallmark provides conference attendees the opportunity to send notes to our families at home. If you haven’t taken a browse at your local Hallmark card aisle, you really should stop a while. It will delight you.
While at evo’12 I happened to toss my business card into the Hallmark fish bowl, and won Christopher. My daughters were very excited about Christopher. He’s an Interactive Story Buddy (ISB). He’s adorable. As you read the story book, there are certain lines you read that cue Christopher to speak.
My daughters have read the story to each other, I’ve read it to them, I’ve even face-timed with my nephews to read to them, and to my class I teach at Church. The kids are fascinated by the ISB. It’s quite entertaining. There are other books that are specific to Christopher, and there is an entire line of ISBs that you can choose from. There’s even a free app to go with Christopher.
What a fun gift to give your child as the butterflies start in anticipation for back-to-school. They get to cuddle, and hear a story, with sweet asides from their story buddy.
Know a kid that would love one?
Hallmark also has great lunch box notes, and kids encouragement cards. Great way to encourage them for the rigors of another school year.
Thanks to Hallmark, they’re offering one of my readers a Back-to-School package. You’ll receive a Christopher Interactive Story Buddy, and your choice of either the lunch box notes, or kids encouragement cards. I’m doing a little happy dance for you!
I’m going to make this really simple to enter.
