I’m sharing some fun pictures from a trip to Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Dinner at Old Fisherman’s Grotto.
They only like the soft centers of the bread. They are my daughters.
We all love clam chowder.
They loved calamari. 6YO is telling me, after I explained that calamari is squid, that she can’t believe she ate something “that scary.”
Pretty cactus garden right outside The Portola Hotel & Spa.
Peace. We’re heading to a day at The Monterey Bay Aquarium. It is always capitalized like that when I say it in my head too.
Precious pearls… *queue groans* – how about Ariel!
Ahem, I think they’re busy.
Fun interactive “where’s the sea creature” exhibit.
Touching all the stuff in the tide pools. (Don’t worry, there’s a hand sanitizing place nearby for parents like me.)
It’s mini-darth vader! It’s just how the humans dress when taking care of wild, adorable sea otters. The Monterey Bay Aquarium’s SORAC program is phenomenal. Go check it out.
I dug the quotes on the walls. Love thoughtful quotes.
The ocean is magnificent.
I have had a crush on Puffins, since my parents took us to Alaska, when I was in high school. They just seem so independent in their fashion sense. (heh)
They had a wall of art created from litter found in the ocean. Amazing.
The girls loved the interactive exhibits. They were fun, and educational.
Teeny, tiny seahorses. That finger is my 4YO’s finger.
We love Monterey. The ocean offers such peace, healing and joy.
Hamming it up in the free MST Trolley back to the hotel, and then home.
For our adventures, and more pictures, check it out!
